2017 Skoda Yeti Review – Price, Specs and Expected Release Date

The first crossover from Skoda made its debut in 2009, the manufacture debut its Yeti in the same year and the car was well received mostly as a family car. The car was so popular among automobile lovers across the globe. The crossover actually was not expected to do well during its launch and the manufacturer was quite surprised by how many people instantly took to the car. The manufacturer clearly wants to go further with the Yeti and that’s why they have decided to introduce the 2017 version of the car into the market. The carmaker is also looking to make the car competitive in the global market because most of the competitors have been reintroducing their models in the market of late.

Exterior and Interior Design

The car is much improved as it has undergone some major design changes. Almost every aspect of the Yeti in the 2017 version has been altered. The platform of the car is most notable change made to the car; the platform will be A-platform from VW which is well-known. The car gets a longer wheel base to ensure that the cars interior will be spacious and comfortable. The body shape of the car will not be changed. The grille of the car is new and daring, the headlights of the car will modified to make the front of the car look attractive. The headlights will be equipped with LED technology.
The interior of the car will be big enough to offer either a 5-seat or a 7-seat as per desire of the buyer. There will be a new infotainment system installed in the car. The steering wheel of the car will be multi-functional to help the driver control a number of the devices in the car with little ease.
For safety, the manufacturer has equipped the car with airbags, a front collision warning system, a rearview camera and other important devices as well.

Engine

As of now it is said that the manufacturer is planning to introduce the car with two engine options. The first engine option is petrol driven 1.4-liter unit that can produce 150 horsepower. The second engine option is diesel-powered. The unit is a 2.0-liter engine that can deliver 177 horsepower. Word coming from most car experts is that the manufacturer may offer more engine options in the future. It is believed that the carmaker will offer around 5 petrol engine units and maybe 2-3 diesel consuming engines. There is also talk of a hybrid plugin unit being introduced as well but that is yet to be confirmed by anyone from Skoda.

Release Date and Price

Somewhere in the mid of 2016 will we be able to find the new Skoda Yeti 2017 in the market. The prices of the car are yet to be officially announced but as per estimations, the 2017 model will cost around $5,000-$10,000 more than it predecessor.
