Apple: The Company confirms shutdown of its iAd App Network

On Last Friday, the Cupertino giant has announced that it is planning to shut down its iAd App Network by end of June 2016. In Addition to that, the company has limited the content creation in current active campaigns.

On Apple’s developer website, the company has announced its plans to cease the service, and also mentioned that it will no longer give access to its users to create new advertisement campaigns. In the meanwhile, existing advertisement campaign will run till June 30 and the user can earn revenue till that timeframe. Additionally, the company has mentioned that it is shutting down the mobile advertising plans and hasn’t disclosed the future plans of the company’s mobile advertisement platforms.

In the last iOS 9 new application discussion, Eddy Cue, Senior Vice-President of Internet Software and Services of the company has mentioned that Apple is developing a new application for publishers, which enables them for opt for various advertisement campaigns in a self serviced manner.

The iAd App Network was launched in the year of 2010 by the company as an in-house program for advertising platforms. This allows to company to handle massive customer base with the help of this platform. In the year of 2014, Tim Cook mentioned the service as a very small part of the company’s revenue. It offers very mere revenue of the company as 5.1% and shutting down of the service will not impact the company’s share in a big manner.

Note: Apple iAd App Network is only shutting down on June 30th. It doesn’t mean that, the company is shutting down its entire Apple’s Advertising Program.
