How To Downgrade To iOS 9.3.3 From iOS 10 Beta

Are you one of those users who tried out iOS 10 beta, realized it is not for a prime audience yet and cannot handle the buggy software and revert to a previous version of iOS? Then this is the article for you. We are going to show you how to downgrade to iOS 9.3.3 which is fairly easy. This downgrade guide is suitable for any iPhone, iPod and iPad. 

To get started, take a USB cable to connect to the computer and Double check if you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your laptop or PC.

Regardless of OS, it is just a matter of using a firmware ipsw file to downgrade from iOS 10 beta. Be sure you have the backup made because the downgrade can cost you the loss of data in the process.

  • Backup your iPhone or iPad or iPod.
  • Download the ipsw file for iOS 9.3.3.
  • Connect your iPhone/iPod/iPad to your PC using USB cable. Once connected and press and hold the home button and power button for 10 seconds.
  • The device connected will be displayed in iTunes, select that and then click on “SHIFT + Restore” for Windows and for Mac OS, click OPTION + “Restore iPhone”
  • Now navigate to choose the ipsw file that you downloaded for iOS 9.3.3 update downgrade and then click on Update.

These steps downgrades from iOS 10 beta to iOS 9.3.x with respective ipsw files downloaded. Once the downgrade is complete you can restore the backup you made.

What if it is unsuccessful?

Many users reported saying there was an unsuccessful downgrade from uninstalling iOS 10 beta. There is another option regardless of this procedural issue. Back up as in the beginning,

Open the iTunes after connecting the iOS device to a computer.
Force restart your device. Press and hold the power button and the home button until the Apple Logo appears.
Continue to hold so, until you see an option from iTunes to start in Recovery mode.
Now click on, “Update and Restore” from the screen displayed. This will uninstall and erase all the data associated iOS 10 beta and will do a clean installation of iOS 9.3.x
Once the process is complete, choose to setup device as a new one from restoring a backup you made previously.
