Facebook Expands Privacy in Messenger Application

26 Feb 2019

On July 8, Facebook went way ahead in securing the Messenger application by rolling out an end-to-end encryption of the messages that user exchanges with the recipient. This strengthens the hopes of the user that no third party can intercept their private conversations.

This is achieved by the additional self-destruct feature that Facebook hands to the users, by letting them decide for how long their messages should be available to the recipient. You get to fix the time frame for your secret message to be read. How cool is that? So whatever messages are exchanged between you and your friend will remain only on your devices and not on Facebook’s servers.

This feature surely triggers a lot of attention in this privacy-seeking smartphone era. With around 900 million and counting users worldwide, the Messenger app has become strikingly attractive and multi-featured by providing cool stickers to use with your messages, HD audio call support, video calling, sharing locations, ability to share money securely, photos and video sharing, and a brand new Chatbot which answers when users pose a question.

Some features are brought in to keep in pace with its competitors. Messenger can be appealing to use when you are on the go in this fast moving world.
