Facebook Messenger App all set to group calling to Android and iOS

26 Feb 2019

Facebook Messenger App is all set to get better with the new feature that will allow you to have group calls over the application. Well, group chatting has always been famous amidst a band of friends, then just imagine what the group calling feature would do. According to the reports, the updated features will be available for Android and iOS in sometime. What is interesting in this regard is that Facebook has not shown any indications about the feature being made available for the Windows Facebook Messenger app.

Facebook is currently the world’s largest social networking site with an approximate user base of 900 million. According to a recent release by Facebook, the new feature will be made available to the Facebook Messenger app on update. While in a group chat, you will see a call icon which would instantly start a telephonic call with all the members of you group. Now, you decide who will speak first.

The new feature upon addition to the facebook messenger app will bring it at par with Skype. Considering from a user’s point, the only thing that the messenger app does not have is a group video call, which might very well be in line.

In another feat by Facebook, it turns out that Facebook Messenger app along with Whatsapp has been used three time in 2015 compared to the general text sent during the year. The numbers will be worse for original text, if we decide to include other instant messaging applications like WeChat, Skype, etc.

Facebook and Whatsapp combined are used for approximately 60billion messages a day, while the number for general texting is just 23 billion in day. Social media experts believe that with the rise of internet, people will always look forward social messaging apps compared to sending simple carrier dependent text messaging. All the social messaging applications have seen a boom in the number of download and a growing user base.
