The company’s product Manager tweeted HTC One M8 unlocked units going to get Marshmallow firmware update soon. The USA HTC One M8 owners can move to the latest version on manual or automatic method.

According to GSMArena reports, the company already listed 12 devices in the first session to Marshmallow firmware. It includes HTC One M9, HTC One M8, HTC One M9+, HTC One E9, HTC One ME, HTC One E9+, HTC One E8, HTC One M8 EYE, HTC One butterfly 3, HTC Desire 826, HTC Desire 820 and HTC Desire 816. As mentioned in the previous tweet, these devices will receive Marshmallow in the mid-December.

Versi says, “working with all of them closely” to get the update out “as soon as possible.” The company still working on the update for carrier version. We don’t think, it would take long for the latest version in carrier version. They might unlock Marshmallow in the mid-January, we are not sure about it.

Guidelines to check for the latest update manually:

• Navigate to setting in the menu section.
• Check for About phone (you can find it in the general category).
• Scroll down and tap on Check for updates.
• It takes 5-10 minutes to track latest firmware update.
• If an update available, don’t forget to backup your data to external memory.
• make sure, you have 90% battery and enough space.

There is no news on Europe M8 consumers, but let’s wait for a couple of weeks. As LlabTooFer tweeted Europe consumers will receive marshmallow before the end of December.
