iOS 9.3 jailbreak: What You Need to Know about Jailbreak

26 Feb 2019

iOS jailbreak involves removal of software restrictions by iOS on devices which are running it through various software exploits. Some of the most important devices in this regard include the iPad, iPhone, Apple TV 2 and 4, iPod Touch etc. Jail breaking begun from the time iPhone came into the market and with upgrade in each iOS, ways of jail breaking the same is being discovered.

The iOS 9.3 jailbreak is highly talked about in the tech industry. It had been claimed that no jailbreak was possible for iOS 9.3, but hackers have claimed that it is possible to do the same. It is also interesting to note that there has been no recent release of jailbreak tools for iOS devices ever since 2015 October. The latest jailbreak release has been seen a month ago for devices, which have iOS 9.1. But it was more of an incremental update, but served no practical use.

Jailbreak experts are targeting iOS 9.3 as the latest jailbreak tool release. iOS 9.3 comes with various advanced features including improved 3D Touch shortcuts, Night Shift and enhanced the Notes app. After the announcements of launch of iOS 9.3, the jail breaking enthusiasts are considering the fact that it would be useful waiting for a jail breaking team so that one of the precious exploits with iOS 9.3 can be used. The new features present in iOS 9.3 are quite fascinating and interesting before the release of iOS 10. Therefore releasing a jailbreak for this version of iOS is likely.

Team Pangu and partial jailbreak

Though untethered iOS 9.3 jailbreak tool is not available as of yet, the Chinese team Pangu has discovered a partial jailbreak for the latest OS from Apple, commonly known as iOS 9.x. Time is not far when an excellent jailbreak will be released making inroads by bypassing the latest security updates by Apple. Partial jailbreak can be done with the help of Semi Jailbreak online tools and Cydia can be downloaded to the iOS device.

Compatible with iOS 9.3 and iOS 9.3.1, partial jail breaking can be carried on iPhone and iPad. As per information from Pangu, the entire process is reversible. The partial jail breaking has been made possible by Teams 3K and TaiG and they are currently collaborating so that the complete jailbreak tool can be released for the latest iOS. The Pangu Team has already been able to jailbreak iOS 9.3.2, which is the beta version of iOS released for public beta testers and developers from Apple. But this tool is still not made public.

Apple has tried bringing in the strictest of security updates for the iOS versions that it releases so that jail breaking can be avoided by all means. But this does not affect the jail breaking communities in any manner. For instance, Luca, the Italian hacker has demonstrated iOS 9.3 jail breaking and currently a tool is being developed for the jailbreak for public release.

Jail breaking tools – difference between original and fake ones

All new iOS that are being launched will have jail breaking for sure. It varies as how long the tool takes to be made available for public. But until the real jail breaking tool is made available for the latest iOS, users must be highly cautious and alert of the fake jail breaking tools, which are available in various websites. These might cause permanent damage to the devices in which they are being installed. For instance, many people think that the TaiG9 website is the official site of Team TaiG, but it is not. In fact, it is a fake and users should avoid the site and the tools that are available on the site for security reasons. Usually the jailbreak tools are free and authenticity should be checked before being installed.
