Apple iPhone 6s has met its grudge match in flagship killer phones, the Samsung Galaxy S7. Samsung S7 has arrived in the market, now competing for the crown of top smartphone.
We bring you a step-by-step breakdown of both the phones and what key feature makes it a killer.
Design:
Samsung Galaxy S7: 7.9mm thick, weighing 152g, made of metal alloy, and glass on the front and back, IP68 certified, available in colors – Black, Gold.
iPhone 6S: 7.1mm thick, weighing 143g, made of Series 7000 anodized and has an aluminium back, available in Space Gray, Silver, Gold, Rose Gold.
Apple iPhone 6s has a curvy body and tougher than the previous iPhones because of Series 7000 anodised aluminium. It is getting used to by the users, though it doesn’t carry Apple’s iconic build. The Samsung Galaxy S7 on the other hand, till date remains Samsung’s prettiest phone available given it has ditched the plastic back and has replaced it with luxurious panel made of glass and metal which makes the phone premium when held in hands. However, these are the changes that qualifies the phone to be a flagship. It is practically firm that it doesn’t slip out of the hand that easily.
Display:
Samsung Galaxy S7: Has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 2,560 x 1,440 that produces 577ppi
iPhone 6S: Has a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with 1334 x 750, 326ppi and 3D Touch
Though Samsung carries an arguable AMOLED display that has a probability of getting oversaturated, the additional screen tone option it offers can make a picture more naturalistic. The display is similar to S6 and also obviously sharper than iPhone 6S because the Super AMOLED technology helps in displaying the deeper blacks resulting in vibrant and sharp display. But Apple’s 3D touch is a nifty feature that is absent in Samsung. This technology detects the various amounts of pressure applied to the iPhone and this can be used in enacting various tasks.
Performance:

The Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a radically different chip than that of Samsung S6 with a memory upgrade from 2 GB to 4GB. This helps extensively in playing games, faster processing and carrying out many multiple tasks at a time. Apple iPhone 6S, though having its series of best processor, lets Samsung hold the merit of being powerful – until iPhone 7 arrives.
Camera:

iPhone 6S has a no-joke camera which enables clicking shots without getting bogged down to settings that are complex. It also has an automatic mode. The only drawbacks from the comparison, we see is, it doesn’t have OIS (optical image stabilization) that makes it struggle in low light compared to Samsung S7. Samsung S7 widens in that area by boosting the performance in low light. Thanks to the 12MP sensor, less that the predecessor, but enabled with a design that capture much better pixels. The accuracy and fastness in the autofocus system to make it even better. The iPhone 6S camera, on the other hand, remains one of the best in the market for general snaps in good day lighting, in which the color accuracy and general look are often preferable to the Galaxy S7 equivalent. Overall though, the Galaxy S7 is the better camera.
Storage:
Samsung Galaxy S7: 32GB variant with microSD
iPhone 6S: 16GB / 64GB / 128GB variants
By comparing with a single variant of Samsung S7, we feel iPhone has more options in the memory front. So, iPhone is the winner you say? Not yet. Samsung S7 offers the microSD card external memory to be inserted which could be up to 128GB. But if you use the apps that takes up a lot of internal memory alone, you are in the soup.
Software:
Samsung Galaxy S7: Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI
iPhone 6S: iOS 9.3
Apple’s iOS 9.3.3 has come up with some impressive UI tweaks such. If you had been an Apple user till now, you might want to check out iOS 10 beta before you think about switching to Android because a lot of stock apps removal option and many fixes are to be brought in the iOS 10 final version.
Samsung on the other hand, learnt its lesson now by loading TouchWiz over the Android which hampers the ability to compete with Apple iPhones. Loads of extra unnecessary apps, previous phones didn’t get Android 6.0 update, but Samsung Galaxy S7 has made a pre-load Android Marshmallow with kind of a consistent experience.
Verdict: Samsung Galaxy S7 remains a worthy rival to iPhone 6S and as an absolute beast of a phone. Better display, faster processor, better camera. We could still take over iPhone 6S even with an internal iOS software. Overall, I think we have to give a nod to the Samsung Galaxy S7 even after iPhone 6S being in the flagship line for 6 months now.
