Microsoft Starts Shipping Surface Hub

Microsoft has announced in a blog post that it has started shipping Surface Hub. Microsoft announced Surface Hub back in January 2015 but delayed due to production scale issues.

“We are excited to see how Surface Hub will bring people together to work, create and learn in new ways,” says Brian Hall, General Manager fro Microsoft Devices Marketing. “We are not just releasing a powerful device. We are releasing a team-empowering solution that will make meetings more productive, modernize workflows and let people engage with data much better.”


The Surface Hub is available in two variants. The smaller one which measures 55 inches is priced at $8,999 and its larger sibling measures 84 inches and it will cost $21,999.

On the specs front, the 55-inch model sports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 120Hz and a contrast ratio of 1300:1. The device is powered by a 4th-Gen Intel Core i5 processor and Intel HD 4600 graphics. The device also have a 128 GB SSD along with 8GB of RAM. The device have all the standard ports and is Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC ready.

The bigger Surface Hub comes with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 120Hz and a contrast ratio of 1400:1. The storage is same as the smaller Hub – 128GB SSD and 8GB RAM. The device is powered by a 4th-Gen Intel Core i7 processor and Quadro K2200 graphics. Both the devices will come with Windows 10 preintalled with Office.

The device is not meant for home use. it is targeted for businesses as it supports white-boarding, video conferencing along with Windows 10. Many businesses, hospitals etc. are already using the device.
