No Windows Phone version of HTC 10 (previously rumored as One M10)

26 Feb 2019

As the troubled Taiwanese smartphone-maker is gearing up for its much anticipated HTC One M10 (which is said to be HTC 10 without the “One M” moniker) anytime soon. We have covered the recent image leaks and some technical information based on trusted sources’ rumor reports. Now, we have one more news related to HTC 10 – no Windows Phone version of the device will ever be released by HTC, not anytime soon.

HTC released the One M8 smartphone in 2014 in 2 variants – Android and Windows Phone. Basically, the Windows Phone HTC One M8 is the actual Android phone in the specifications and hardware, except the Microsoft’s software.

Last year, when launching the HTC One M9, the company didn’t launch the Windows Phone variant of One M9 device. This year, the same trend will continue, according to the popular leakster @evleaks. Many consumers thought that after changing the device name to HTC 10, the company might launch a Windows 10 device as well, by guessing a hint in the name of the phone. That isn’t true- there won’t be any Windows Phones from HTC in coming years.

If you are seriously considering to buy a high-end Windows Phone device, then you should try the surprising entry by HP as in the form of HP Elite x3 smartphone announced at MWC 2016. With Microsoft Windows 10, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (Dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo) processor, Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal memory, 16MP and 8MP cameras and impressive 4150mAh battery, the new 5.96-incher HP Elite x3 may suit your need.

If you are considering a Windows Phone from the experienced smartphone-maker, then you should go for Microsoft’s own Lumia 950 or Lumia 950XL, which were released in 2015-end.
