Online gifting portals are witnessing 75 percent growth in revenues during raksha bandhan season compared to last year.Not only big e-commerce companies like flipkart,e-bay and amazon are riding high on the online rakhi rage.

If we talk about just the rakhi  business, despite recession sale of rakhis in this festival could cross Rs 5 crore says market expert. According to a report by industry lobby ASSOCHAM,the overall online retail industry in indin is likely to be worth Rs7,000 crore($1.1bn) by 2015 and the credit goes to easy internet access and availability of broadbrand services. Cadbury  chocolates typically witnesses 15-20% jump in sales during festive month. Not only Cadbury but the sales of gold and silver rakhis too have gone up, sales of branded jewllery have gone up 47% ouer few days. These are the numerical estimates but the actual collection is far more as it included many markets such as sweets, cloth market, decorative markets ,etc.
