Redmi Note 3: Install CyanogenMod 13 Marshmallow on Redmi Note 3

Redmi Note 3 is one of the top selling affordable smartphone on the current market, and been “Out of Stock” in most of the online e-commerce sites. The mobile users have tired of waiting for the official release of Marshmallow Android 6.0 for the device. Here, I shared a guide, which lets you to install Cyanogenmod 13 Marshmallow operating system on Redmi Note 3. 

This is not an official update for the device, and the same is considered as one of the most famous Custom ROM for Android Marshmallow. By installing Cyanogenmod 13 Marshmallow on Redmi Note 3, one can enjoy all sorts of features of Marshmallow on their Redmi Note 3 itself.

Note: This guide is purely applicable to Redmi Note 3 users, and for Snapdragon version. Don’t try, if you own Mediatek version of Redmi Note 3. Also, if you own other devices than Redmi Note 3, I advise not to try this. Prior to the procedure, make backup of all the data on your device on your local machine. So that, you can restore the data, after the installing Cyanogenmod 13 Marshmallow on your Redmi Note 3.

Things to be done before installing Cyanogenmod 13 on Redmi Note 3:

Make sure, your device has more than 80% of the battery.
Cyanogenmod 13 can be installed on bootloader unlocked device, and TWRP installed on it. To know how to unlock bootloader, click here.

Step 1: Download the above mentioned packages from the links.

Step 2: After downloading, copy and store the data in the device internal storage.

Step 3: Reboot the device in TWRP recovery mode and flash the downloaded files. By pressing Volume Up + Power buttons for 5 seconds during boot up, recovery mode will appear on the screen.

Step 4: Wipe the data present in the device by tapping “Wipe” in the menu.

Step 5: Now, click install from the menu and select the Cyanogenmod 13 Zip file, and click on Add more zip files, then add GApps files also.

Step 6: Click “Confirm to Flash”

That’s all, now your device will be rebooted after the process. First time booting will take some time to happen. After that, your Redmi Note 3 will run on Cyanogenmod 13.
