2017 Acura NSX is a beast; Rumors suggests even better Type R is line

26 Feb 2019

The 2017 Acura NSX configurator has been launched this week and the auto world is at awe with it. What is more interesting that rumors have started to come up regarding a higher performance version! The rumors suggest that it is possibly going to be a Type R.

The 2017 Acura NSX at present comes with a mammoth 573 horsepower and a 476 lb per ft of torque. All of this is due to the twin turbo V6 and the three electric motors that go along with it. The reports also suggests that the engineers working on the 2017 Acura NSX are now looking forward to boost up the performance by some margin, which would certainly make the 2017 Acura NSX one of the best in its class.

The reports suggest that the engineers working on the Acura NSX believe that they have not completely tapped in the potential of the 3.5 liter V6. The strength of the current model is not even close to what it can be. According to them, the power to displacement ration of 143 is way less compared to what it can do. This might well be achieved by improving the turbochargers, which could in turn lend more efficiency to the engine.

The engineers also believe that apart from the traditional methods of improvements, working on the electric batteries might as well allow the 2017 Acura NSX to reach the next level. The engineers are possibly thinking of upgrading the electrical system might just improve the flow as well as the efficiency.

The rumors also have it that in order to get on with the efficiency, the Type R might just have to shed on some weight as well. Although, these are just rumors now, but it is sure interesting to think of what might just happen.
