Samsung isn’t done with Note; two models of Galaxy Note 6 is in the making

26 Feb 2019

Earlier, some reports have suggested that Samsung has stopped going after the large screen Note series of smartphones/phablets. However, the latest rumor suggests that there are two variants of Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is getting ready to be launched in August, most probably before the Apple event in September.

As the release date of Galaxy Note 6 is not far away, we can imagine that the Korean manufacturer is testing the prototypes by now, before finalizing and sending it to mass production. There is a report published by a reliable source, which claims that Samsung will be launching only one device from the 2 models of the large screen phablet, touted as Galaxy Note 6. One of them will not be launched to the market.

Last year, Samsung launched Galaxy S6 Edge+. However, this device will not get a successor in this year. And that means, Samsung is focusing on filling the place of two devices by launching Galaxy Note 6 – Note 5 successor and S6 Edge+ successor.

Experts believed that Samsung would take the curved screen from the recently launched Galaxy S7 Edge. Interestingly, according to the report, one of the two models of Galaxy Note 6 has a curved screen like previous Edge-branded devices. Samsung has a tough decision to make – to launch curved screen or straight one.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Specs – What we know so far?
Whether a curved screen or not, Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will be having a 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, Samsung’s own unnamed version of Exynos 8 Octa core processor (higher speed than S7’s 8890 chipset) or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 823 for some markets, 6GB of RAM and a massive 4,000mAh battery.

Regarding the camera, Samsung will be incorporating its S7/S7 Edge’s 12 megapixel dual pixel camera in the next galaxy Note handset. Analysts and experts believe that Samsung will be launching an iris scanner (eye scanner) along with the fingerprint scanner (latter one will be incorporated anyway). 32GB internal memory will be granted on the device, maybe the higher memory device might enter the market with a higher price.

Galaxy Note 6 Release Date?
As we said, Samsung will be launching the Note 6 in August, or at least by September. Google would be launching its latest Android N software in June-July, and the Korean smartphone-maker would take at least a month to launch the device with the new Android version.

What specs are in question?
Water resistance/proofing, iris scanner, USB Type-C, fast charging/wireless charging, and a faster focusing 5-axis OIS camera is in the question. No words about it anywhere so far. Fast charging, wireless charging and USB Type-C likely to be featured with the new handset.
