25 Feb 2019

Following the November last year’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout to the devices in South Korea, Europe and Sprint version of the phone, one more version of LG G4 in the United States has started to receive the latest firmware update. Sorry, we’re not talking about the Verizon and AT&T version of LG G4 here – it’s US Cellular version of LG G4.

US Cellular has already started rolling out Android 6.0 MM update to its LG G4 (US-991) smartphone users via OTA. The update roll out process has commenced 2 days ago and according the reports, US Cellular is sending out the update package to users in multiple phases to ease out the process. So, if you haven’t received the notification yet, no need to worry.

After installing the update on the phone, users will be experiencing a new UI and design changes in the software, and the changelog also shows that the company has enhanced the security of the smartphone through this update. One good news is – US Cellular’s MobiTV and Mobile Data Security preloads will be removed from the phone.

Once you update the device, it will be having a new baseband name – US99120b. All is well for the US Cellular users. Now it’s the time for Verizon and AT&T to quickly decide about the software update distribution to LG G4s of the respective carriers.
