Verizon Moto G (first generation) receives Lollipop 5.1.1, Marshmallow update is on the way

Like other brand Smartphone, Moto G (first generation) consumer gets minor update over-the-air. Once you complete installation, the device software version jumps to 221.26.7.falcon_cdma.Verizon.en.US. A couple of years ago, Motorola announced their first generation in the month of December. It was first introduced in the market with Android v4.3 operating system. The company unlocked many firmware back-to-back, which now receives V5.1.1 Lollipop. 

The device equipped every needed hardware for the next Marshmallow update. At a glance, Moto G sporting Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset that boost 1GB RAM. Apart from  the rounded corner edge outer layer, the device display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. We have 1.3-megapixel selfie shooter and 5-megapixel rear camera. Much like other devices, Moto G comes with two different storage variants (8/16GB).

How you can check for the latest update?

Tap on setting menu
Select About phone> check for updates
It take 10-15 minutes to search for the new firmware
If new firmware available, you can move to update procedure
Keep in your mind, the update process takes long time and consumes more battery. Make sure, you have 100% battery and took a backup of data.

What’s new in Lollipop v5.1.1 update?

The firmware covers new notifications, adds a flashlight option in the quick setting, Material design and Ambient display. If you don’t receive any new firmware notification, grab new update using manual method under about phone options. Some website reports, the new firmware also covers stage frieght v2.0 bug fixes, which exploited thousand of Android devices.
