At the E3 2016 Conference, the Xbox team without beating around the bush, announced a new model of Xbox – Xbox One S which was designed alongside Xbox One by bringing in some new features like slimmer design, much better console than Xbox One. 

Here’s a list of things that you should know about Xbox One S.

Design: In terms of design, the Xbox One S stands by the letter ‘S’ in the name. It is slimmer, sleek and sexy. The major change in the size would be one of the attractive features of the buyers because it is slimmer in all ways than the bloated Xbox One. The Xbox One S is 40% smaller than the Xbox One because the integration of the external power supply in One S is smaller. It can stand horizontally now, which means less occupancy of space. Its razor sharp “robot-white” colored now. The Kinect port on the rear has been removed, so to use it you need to buy an external adapter. There are two USB ports on the rear and one in the front with an IR blaster.

4K Ultra HD compatible: What makes the Xbox One S is more capable than the Xbox One is the support for 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray video playback, with a High Dynamic Range which is very much the talk of 2016 is equipped in Xbox One S. This is the cheapest Xbox with Blu-ray playback you could find in the market now. Of course, you need TV for taking advantage of these features.

Wireless Controller: The new controller in the Xbox One S comes with a neat firm grip which is comfortable and enhanced. This new redesign comes with a new enhanced thumb controller too with Bluetooth which makes it wireless, obviously. This controller is available separately for a fixed price, but you get one with the Xbox One S too.

Hardware and Specifications: We don’t have a handful of information on the details of internal of its consoles, but one area which is interesting is in the storage hard drive. We are expecting a 500 GB, 1TB and a special edition 2TB at various price points with an external USB 3.0 HDD which is not confirmed yet.

Price: The 2TB variant of Xbox One S has been priced with a tag $399 with 500 GB and 1TB models incoming later at around $299 and $349 respectively.

Release Date: The Xbox One S will be available in the market from August 2 2016 in the United Kingdom. The first variant to be available will be a 2TB storage option followed by the smaller capacity consoles later this year.
