Xiaomi recently launched Mi5S and Mi5S Plus a while ago. These models are the successor of Mi5 which may arrive soon into the market. Now it seems that company is getting ready to bring another model under this segment. This upcoming model may be the Mini edition of Mi5. It is now very clear that Xiaomi is interested to increase its product portfolio as their models are getting popular in many markets. Mi 5C may become the part of their portfolio soon after Mi5S and Mi5S Plus as some discussions are going on from some time about this rumoured model.
Some specialists are suggesting that the codename of Mi5C is “Meri”. This upcoming edition is expected to be more economical than Mi5S and Mi5S Plus. Many features may resemble with Mi5. However there will be some features which will differentiate the gadget from the first model of Mi5. Some leaks suggest that company is looking to offer a sleek metal body here. It can have a 2.2 GHz Octa-core MediaTek processor and it may work with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. You may already know that Xiaomi models are based on MIUI edition. Therefore most probably the gadget may work with MIUI 8.6.9.6 edition.
Connectivity options are not going to disappoint many users. This model can have 4G LTE support along with VoLTE. Screen-size of the gadget can be 5.5 inch and company may include a 3GB RAM here. The internal capacity of the gadget can be 64GB here. You may also have the facility to add a microSD card up to 128GB here. Primary camera of Mi5C is expected to be of 16MP. It is almost certain that company may include useful features like LED flash and autofocus here. Secondary camera of the gadget is expected to be of 8MP.
Price of the model is going to be the key factor here. Many reports are suggesting that company may keep the price-tag in between $180 and $230 only. The exact price is not available at present. However the price may fall under this range. The year 2016 is going to end soon now. This is the time when we see many makers competing hard into the market. Most of the makers announce their models through different events. The last quarter of the year is the time when the real competition starts into the marketplace. Therefore it will be very exciting to see how Xiaomi will be able to compete under this segment. It is certain that many other makers will be there to challenge Xiaomi.
