Microsoft: Support for Windows 8 was finally Killed by the Company

25 Feb 2019

In order to get crucial updates from the Microsoft Corporation, Windows 8 users need to update to Windows 8.1 or to Windows 10, said by the company. Recently, the company has stopped supporting the life support for the Windows 8 operating system after the survey done by the Netmarketshare.

It is all known that, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 upgrading are free of cost; around 2.6 percentages of people on this globe are still using the Windows 8 operating system. Approximately 50 million personal computers in this world are still using the Windows 8 operating system without updating their operating system to 8.1 or to 10.

It is not a recent decision by the tech giant. The company has already announced to its users, when the Windows 8.1 operating system was released in October 2013. Microsoft has clearly mentioned to its customers that they have two years of timeframe for updating their Windows 8 operating system to Windows 8.1. As of now, the company has withdrawn its support for the older Windows 8 operating system. The thing is that, Windows 8 users can still operate their machine with Windows 8 operating system. But without any future security updates, the users will be subjected to the risk of getting hacked by the hackers.

Many users across the globe were saying the Windows 8 operating system as a bug ridden one. But the real fact is that, Windows 8 is not a bug ridden operating system like Windows Vista. The thing is that, most of the people don’t love the operating system unlike others. The operating system forces the customers to directly boot into the Start Screen. Windows 8.1 was revamped with start menu icon and offers few items, which customers really want.

Likewise, Microsoft abandoned the XP operating system support, now Microsoft has also stopped supporting the Windows 8 operating system too.
